Do you teach sugar flower classes?

Behind the Brand

A common question I get asked is, “Do you teach sugar flower classes?”

While I don’t currently offer sugar flower classes, it’s something I’m passionate about and would totally love to do in the future!

For now, if you’d like to learn my techniques for creating beautiful, nature-inspired sugar flowers, you do have a few options:

Purchase one of my video or PDF tutorials (a collection I’m slowly building), or

Book a one-on-one consultation call with me.

During these sessions, we can discuss sugar flower techniques, troubleshoot your challenges, and I can even provide virtual support while you work on your flowers, too!

My Inspiration to Teach

My love for sugar flowers—and what finally convinced me to teach classes one day—is deeply inspired by the legacy of Chef Nicholas Lodge.

He was one of the first teachers whose sugar flower classes I signed up for. His passion for sharing knowledge shaped not only my craft but he also taught thousands of sugar artists.

To this day, I still use the tools and techniques I learned from him every day in my studio!

Nicholas Lodge was loved by everyone in the cake community in a way that goes beyond the skills he taught because he was so generous in his teaching and committed to his students’ growth. The best way I know how to honor his legacy is to share my love and knowledge about sugar flowers with other artists in the way he shared with me and all of his students.

So even though I’m not offering classes just yet, I still want to kindle that spirit of teaching!

It’s my way of connecting with other sugar artists who are also passionate about making flowers, and building on the legacy that Nicholas Lodge exemplified.

But until I am ready to offer classes (probably when my two little toddlers are a bit older!), here are some places to look for Sugar Flower classes that are in person!

Venues + Artists Offering In-Person Sugar Flower Classes

Sugar Art Studio (Tampa, FL)

Prefer learning from the comfort of your own kitchen? Here are some of my favorite resources for sugar flower tutorials and techniques:

📚 Modern Sugar Flowers Vol. I & II by Jacqueline Butler

🖥️ Robert Haynes Sugar Flower Studio Academy (online classes)

My copies of Modern Sugar Flowers are well worn and notated! And I’ve taken both in person and online classes from Robert Haynes. Although nothing can be the in person experience, the level of detail he records in his videos is absolutely wonderful.
